Pat Burrell Has Given Up on the Mets

During last night's broadcast, Gary Cohen mentioned how Pat Burrell of the Phillies had told reporters that the Phillies had given up chasing the Mets and were now focused on the Wild Card.

Is it really that simple? Burrell is just giving up? Where's the fun in that? I wonder if he conferred with Jimmy Rollins first.

Anyways, that doesn't mean anything to the Mets. We're still hoping to get some revenge later this week when the Phils come into town. Hopefully we can ruin their wild card chances.

Thanks for the bulletin board material Burrell. See you on Friday.

Absolutely. Don't think this Mets team doesn't want to crush their Wild Card hopes. I for one, want to see it happen. But then again, if it weren't for that sweep, the Mets might have continued their lackluster play. Whatever, hammer the Phils!
