Does this kid want to stay in the big leagues or what? For the second time in two night Lastings Milledge embarassed Mike Stanton. Friday night didn't mean anything, but last night Lastings Milledge slapped the ball up the middle to drive in the winning run of the game.
And it came with two outs and a runner in scoring position! It's a festivus miracle.
That's something that neither Wright, nor Beltran, nor Delgado could do earlier in the game. Glavine pitched a masterpiece giving up only 2 hits and one run while pitching 8 full innings. I wanted him to come back out for the 9th, but Billy Wagner got the save without any drama.
I feel good for Lastings Milledge. The way things have been going I almost expected Willie Randolph to complain that Milledge shouldn't have swung at that pitch. But so far Milledge is able to enjoy the moment.
Good for him.
